Castle Howard Choose Think Renewables For Biomass Boiler Solution

After of years of using a traditional central heating system, Castle Howard, one of the UK's finest historic houses decided to upgrade their boiler. A sprawling estate with a legacy going back 300 years, the Howard family needed to find a solution that would provide the same level of heating, however with improved efficiencies. Actively seeking a renewable energy solution, Castle Howard reviewed their options including solar energy and air source heating, all of which offered tangible benefits. Think Renewables were invited in to consult on their best option and after a comprehensive review it was decided as full biomass heating system would be able to achieve the objectives.

Working with the Castle Howard team, Think Renewables designed, developed and managed an entirely new biomass system including removing all existing heating pipes (some of which had been in for a number of years). Converting the old boiler house into an indoor hopper the biomass system holds 10 tonnes of pellets which will last around 3 months.

Castle Howard are delighted with the solution provided by the Think Renewables team and are already starting to enjoy the performance of the biomass boiler system plus the fantastic savings available.
