Train The Trainer Programme Rosae

Train The Trainer Programme Rosae

Call for applications for

Train-the-trainer courses for PV and solar thermal

@ RENAC-OASIS Solar Academy Egypt (ROSAE)

1 Introduction

Egypt features abundant solar resources. However, currently solar energy is hardly used in Egypt. One of the barriers against a sound market development is the lack of experts and trainers that can provide practical-oriented training programs.

The Egyptian solar market needs installers, technicians and engineers who have good knowledge and skills on designing, installing, operating and maintaining photovoltaic or solar thermal systems.

The RENAC-OASIS Solar Academy Egypt (ROSAE) has been established by the Renewables Academy (RENAC), based in Berlin, Germany and OASIS Renewable Energy from Cairo to overcome this deficit and provide high quality and practical-oriented trainings for target groups along the solar value chains, as well as potential investors. The training courses are offered in collaboration with SEDA, the Solar Energy Development Association of Egypt.

ROSAE will establish high quality solar trainings in Egypt with a selected trainer team, a training center for practical exercises and training materials adapted to the conditions in Egypt.

At first ROSAE will offer two Train-the-Trainer programmes:

Programme

1st block

2nd block

Solar Thermal

13.04. - 16.04.2014

15.06. - 18.06.2014

Photovoltaics (PV)

27.04. - 30.04.2014

25.05. - 28.05.2014

Aiming at enabling and encouraging professionals with a strong technical background and experience with solar applications to become trainers, the Train-the-Trainer courses constitute a great opportunity to extend knowledge on solar energy and to be skilled as a trainer for high quality trainings.

RENAC-OASIS Solar Academy Egypt is interested in a long-term collaboration with successful participants of the Train-the-Trainer seminars.

2 Objectives

Upon successful completion of the Train-the-Trainer seminar, participants:

can describe advanced technical aspects of PV or solar thermal systems,

explain costs and economics, as well as project management of PV or solar thermal systems,

plan and tailor seminars to the requirements of target groups,

hold lectures considering different didactical approaches,

conduct practical exercises on training equipment.
