Zachry Selected By Sempra Generation To Build A Nominal 150 Mw Solar Power Plant
Leading EPC provider, Zachry Holdings, Inc. has been selected by Sempra Generation to build one of the world's largest solar power plants, adding a nominal 150-MW solar power plant to the U.S. renewable fleet. Owned and operated by Sempra Generation, the Mesquite Solar Project will be located near Arlington, Arizona, and is projected to offset 200,000 tons of carbon emission each year.

Zachry will manage the installation and integration of more than 800,000 multicrystalline solar panels, providing full EPC. The project is expected to create more than 300 local jobs for construction and installation, with completion scheduled for 2013.

"We are excited about working with Sempra to create hundreds of green jobs and promote sustainable economic development," said Keith Manning, executive vice president of Zachry Holdings, Inc. "This facility will provide decades of clean electricity for thousands of residents, businesses and communities."

The installation is projected to annually generate about 350,000 megawatt hours of electricity, enough to power approximately 50,000 homes for a number of decades. The environmental impact of carbon emission reduction equates to the removal of 40,000 cars off the roadway or the planting of 20 million trees.
