Suzlon Group, world's fifth largest wind-turbine manufacturer, is all set to increase its renewable energy portfolio in Gujarat. At the Vibrant Gujarat Summit, the group expressed its plans to invest Rs 24,000 crore over the next 5 years on clean energy projects.

Suzlon has to its credit over 1,800 MW of wind energy installed capacity in the state, which accounts for 20 per cent of group's pan-India installed capacity.

Tulsi Tanti, CMD of Suzlon, said that the investment of Rs 24,000 in the state will be used to set up 2,000 MW of onshore wind capacity, 500 MW of off-shore wind energy and 500 MW of solar energy over the next five years.
